The Wieliczka Salt Mine is one of the oldest rock salt mines in the world. It is
also, next to Wawel, the most recognized Polish tourist destination in the
world.
It is also a priceless monument of nature and technology, placed in 1978 as
one of the first places and objects in the world on the UNESCO World
Heritage List. Its original excavations are approximately 300 km long and are
